SCROOMS Double Jump: How to Unlock Echo Step
MOVEMENT / ECHO STEP DOUBLE JUMP
The first boots and the later double jump are different unlocks. Songtreads help with the first cavern crossing. Echo Step is the later reward that adds a second airborne jump.
SCROOMS Double Jump Prerequisite: Active Songtreads
Section titled “SCROOMS Double Jump Prerequisite: Active Songtreads”Echo Step builds on your movement progression. If you are still trying to obtain or equip the first boots, follow the separate SCROOMS Songtreads guide. That page covers the initial Shax race and Bluestone crossing.
Owning the original boots does not establish that Echo Step is unlocked. Check your reward dialogue and current quest before attempting repeated airborne inputs.
Echo Step: the later second jump
Section titled “Echo Step: the later second jump”The later Sanctum progression recording shows another Shax race, followed by an Echo Step reward. With Songtreads active, jump once, then use the jump input again while airborne.
Shax is still unavailable
Section titled “Shax is still unavailable”A player reported reaching level 72 without being able to speak to Shax. That is a reason to inspect the quest chain, not evidence that level 72 is the unlock rule.
Check these separately: your active main quest, unclaimed NPC turn-ins, the first race reward, the current Shax location and whether the later race is offered. The reviewed footage does not isolate every prerequisite for Second Wind. If the offer is absent, follow your current objective rather than grinding to a guessed level.
If your main quest is still in Sanctum, use The Magus’ Requiem checks. If the obstacle is a sealed door rather than a gap, the gate-song guide is the relevant branch.
