SCROOMS Chimes: How to Earn and Spend Them

SCROOMS CHIMES / SALES AND UPGRADE BUDGETS

SCROOMS Chimes come from selling caught creatures and completing quests. Read the current sale scope and quote before confirming, keep creatures needed by active objectives, and compare the next purchase with your actual balance.

The opening route teaches catches, quest return conversations and merchant sales. Finish the capture first: a creature that escaped has not become inventory you can sell. Finish the NPC conversation too: a completed objective can still need its reward turn-in.

The launch tutorial sends players to Julian’s Grove stall for a sale. Other shop descriptions and later versions can use different NPC prompts, so follow the name and action shown in your session.

Before confirming, distinguish the held catch from an inventory-wide sale and read the offered total. Check whether your current objective requests a named species or mutation prefix. An Index discovery is a record, not a spare creature available for a hand-in.

Marina’s reported Fungstone hand-in illustrates the difference: the task can need a held creature even after its discovery is recorded. The Scroomdex helps identify the name; the controls guide explains backpack and equipment actions.

Reported opening instrument Reference cost
Tamer’s Guitar 100 Chimes
Adventurer’s Tambourine 750 Chimes
Violin of Pilgrimage 4,500 Chimes

These are community-reference prices, not a live shop feed. Check the current quote and use the instrument comparison before purchasing.

For a simple plan, use remaining Chimes = max(0, target price + chosen reserve − current balance). With 80 Chimes, a 100-Chime guitar and no reserve, the gap is 20 Chimes. That arithmetic does not predict how many catches it will take.

No fixed earning rate is verified here. Record actual received Chimes over a timed session and separate income from spending. Selling inventory accumulated earlier can distort a short session’s apparent rate. An unsold rare catch is not realized income.

Do not count a future code reward in your budget unless a real offer is confirmed and redeemed. Check the dedicated SCROOMS codes status.
